Ski Sierra at TahoeSierra-at-Tahoe is located an hour and a half from the San Francisco Bay area. It's also an easy day trip from those staying in South Lake Tahoe. The resort was first developed by Vern Sprock who opened it in 1946 with one Bullwheel - back in those days it was known as the Sierra Ski Ranch. The Sprock family ran the resort until 1993 when it was sold to Fibreboard. Fibreboard changed the name, developed the resort further and then it was sold to Booth Creek Ski Holidings in 1996.
