Auffach Resort
Auffach is 7km away from Niederau and is a smaller, quieter village. It is part of the Wildschonau Valley and actually boasts the highest slopes up to 1900m. The Wildschönau lies approximately 100km south of Munich, halfway between the Bavarian border and the alpine city of Innsbruck. The Wildschönau is accessible via the Munich-Rosenheim-Kufstein Motorway. Please refer to nearby Niederau and Oberau for more information on the ski area

Auffach Bars
 Heading out for a bit of nightlife. One of the great things to check out it the Nightliner Bus that runs late into the night on Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays. The Nightliner bus runs between Niederau and Auffach from 8pm - 3am from Thursday to Saturday nights. Price: € 2.50 per person per trip. Tickets bought in advance at the Tourist Office cost € 2
Niederau is a lively place, if you ski during the day there the cafe at the Simmerlwirt is often lively as soon as the lifts close, after the Dorfstub'n Fun-Pub is good to continue the evening. |

Auffach Ski What's skiing in Auffach like?
Auffach is part of the Wildschonau Ski Area with access to 65km of skiing on 47 pistes served by 26 lifts. The lift pass allows you to ski at Nierderau, Oberau and Thierban which gives you a wealth of options. Auffach has a little more snow reliability than nearby Niederau and has lots of short red runs. The runs on the Schatzberg in Auffach, the larger Wildschönau ski area, are more placid. The terrain is more open and the runs wider. There is a good long piste from the top to the village home. Snowboarding in Auffach There is a fun park in Auffach with a half pipe, this can be accessed easily by a Gondola. The nearby Niederau is more suited for snowboarders in that there is some fun natural jibs and features for free-styling, and less of the T bars which are popular in Auffach. The Wildschonau Area 26 lifts at heights between 830 and 1900 metres above sea level serve 70 km of well groomed ski slopes (30 km of which have snow making facilities)

Niederau Penning - Oberau: 20 km
Roggenboden: 5 km
Auffach - Mühltal , Bernau: 12 km The use of the cross country track is free of charge in the Wildschönau! A trail map and winter walking map is available in the Tourist Office. Schonanger The Schönanger Alm is at the end of the valley at the foot of the Wildschönau's highest mountain. There is a 7km long cross country track. |

Mountain GasthofKoglmoos - at the mid station. Self service restaurant, large terrace. 7 appartmtents for 2 - people are also available.
Schatzberg Alm, Self service restaurant at the top of the Schatzberg with large terrace and après ski bar. Accommodation for groups, club etc in standard rooms.
Gipfö-Hit - New hut at the top of the chairlift. Waitress service, bar and large terrace.
Schatzberg Hut - above the Gipfö Hit. Offers accommodation for 10 people with 5 bedrooms, living room, kitchen etc.
Après Ski Bar - at the mid station and Gruttn Bar in the village.
Markbachjoch - Niederau Ski Area
There are several huts on the Markbachjoch, Niederau's ski area.
Markbachjoch Alm - a cosy wooden hut at the top of the gondola offering Tyrolean specialities. Large terrace.
Under the same management: Rübezahl Hut - offers accommodation for groups. NEW 2 comfortable appartments. The HOT POT is a giant wooden barrel to relax in after skiing and take in your breathtaking surroundings.
Berghotel Panorama - Self service restaurant with large terrace right next to the gondola. Accommodation for up 100 people in rooms with sh/wc/telephone and balcony.
Anton-Graf-Hut - at the bottom of the Hochberg run. Overnight facilities for up to 42 people in large dormitories. Breakfast ot Halfboard available.
Après Ski Bars in the village: Bobo's Heustadl Bar, Schirmbar, Stadl Treff, O'Malleys Irish Pub
Oberau
The speciality of the Riedlhof Hut right on the Oberau Riedlslope is its giant Wiener Schnitzels and Zebu Ragout.
Hotel Tirolerhof with restaurant and ther Stadl - Après Ski Bar lies at the bottom of the Schiesshüttl lift.
Roggenboden on the outskirts of Oberau has regular floodlit tobogganing and skiing organised by the HotelTalhof next to the two drags there.
