Ellmau Hotels
The best is possibly The Bar T: 0043 5358 2395, yes it is expensive, but what do you expect for a Relais Chateux hotel. A friendly place though and not at all pretesious. The Kaiserblick +43 5358 2230 with its Spa and good position on the piste and enjoyed by families. For those on a budget try the self catering apartments at Landhorf

Ellmau Ski The Ski Welt is the largest circuit in Austria. It links gong Scheffau, Soll, Liter, Hopfgarten and Brixen so get the 3D map to check it all out. Lots of runs to master although some of them are a little too much snow but snowmaking equipment has helped solve some of the problems whilst you will find little queuing. For Experts - probably best to get off piste.
For Intermediates - if you love easy cruising you will love this ski area. Lots and lots of runs to enjoy. Be warned though ice and slush are know to be on the lower slopes.
Beginners - Good Nursery slopes covered by snowmaking, with the opportunity to develop your turns over the week.
Snowboarding - Ellmau has its own park with a selection of kickers and rails |

Ellmau Mountain Restaurants The food tends to be good value in decent surroundings throughout the mountain range. Try the Aualm for an afternoon cake. The Jagerhutte is recommended for its strudel we leave the best to last and it is the Rubezahl. Try and avoid the large self servie places which often have queues. |

No more wrestling wet paper maps with frozen fingers! There are over 500 ski resorts piste maps in Europe and North America available. Go to Snow-Forecast Snowranger
Film your Mates Jumps, Tricks & Shameful Ski / Snowboard Moments. We love the JAMCAM – it’s a head camera that allows you to capture your days skiing or snowboarding on the mountain. You can rent or buy the kit so for more details head to www.jam-cam.tv If you take the JAMCAM rental service in resort they include a host to record your day. The alternative is to rent before you leave, taking the equipment to the ski resort of your choice and posting back on your return. Gift vouchers are available via the website offering an unusual Christmas or Birthday present for your ski & snowboard mad friends.
What's an easy way to carry skis? Well we found the ‘THE HANDLE’ . This nifty little device allows you to carry your skis around without causing major injury to yourself and other members of the public. It’s incredibly easy to use – no Velcro just a click buckle. It’s also light and small enough to put in your pocket. www.ski-walker.com

Took my 2 sons to Ellmau for the New Year for the second time and I can say we had a wonderful holiday. The boys were in ski school all day and really enjoyed the instruction. I have to say it was a lot better than the first time when we to France. I am an intermediate skier and the skiing was excellent over the week. Following a recommendation we stayed at the Hochfiler and we were very happy with the rooms, staff and food. Will we go back. Definetely.

Organised our great discount ski hire through yourselves – thank you for that! Ellmau is loved by all of our family and we are hooked – have been coming here for the past 6 years….the snow is usually pretty good during the Feb half term week. We stay at the Hochfilzer Hotel each year and we cannot speak highly of it enough. The skiing here is amazing and keeps everyone amused…regardless of abilities! See you next year!
