 Skiing in Fieberbrunn 

Fieberbrunn is one of the 5 municipalities that make up the Pillerseetal.  The name Fieberbrum means farewell and it got its name in 1354 after a princess was healed by taking the waters.

The resort is very pretty and a lovely place for a family winter holiday.

As with many Austrian ski resorts most of the restaurants are based in the hotels dotted around the resort.  There are of course a number of restaurants for you to explore and dine in should the hotel restaurants not tickle your fancy!

Apres ski in Fieberbrunn is somewhat limited but head down to Cheers and Biwak for some lively nightlife.

Should you wish to take a break from skiing and snowboarding then there is a swimming pool in the leisure centre and a wellness centre where you can go to relax.

Fieberbrunn is an excellent resort for families.

 

The off-piste is often left untouched so there are some excellent opportunities to explore the powder conditions permitting.  The fun park at mid station including a half pipe and you'll find this lit until 10pm at night.

Fieberbrunn has a number of shops for you to go off and explore in; selling a wide range of traditional Austrian items including fine chocolates and wood carvings.  In addition to these fine shops there are also a number of sports shops where you will be able to find additional ski and snowboard gear should you need to.

Obviously many families go to this resort to ski and snowboard so if you want a break from that then take a trip to the leisure centre and go for a relaxing swim.

We went with my brothers family and had an excellent week brilliant week in Fieberbrunn staying at the 3 star Hotel Metzgerwirt. We all skied the 4 resorts of Fieberbrunn, St Johann, St Jakob and Waidring, which we got to by bus which was always on time. The slopes were fairly empty and we had a number of decent meals slope side throughout the week.
