About The Resort..

Skiing in Finkenberg

finkenberg_skiIt's a picture postcard Austrian resort and the scenery is simply stunning.  Finkenberg is a small quite village that shares a gondola with Mayrhofen.  The village is what you might imagine of a pretty Austrian resort; there are traditional buildings with a range of hotels, bars and restaurants.

Resort Restaurants

Restaurants in Finkenberg

There are a wide range of restaurants - many of which are located inside the hotels; this is very common in Austrian ski resorts. For more choice why not venture over to nearby Mayrhofen

Nightlife..

Nightlife and Apres Ski in Finkenberg

Finkenberg Bars

FINKENBERG_BARSThere are two bars in Finkenberg and what the resort lacks in quantity it certainly makes up for in atmosphere. So make sure you check out Laternal and Finkenest - both at the bottom of the gondola. The Finkennest offerswelcoming yet crazy decor.

Other Activities

Alternative Winter Activities in Finkenberg

If you fancy a break from skiing or snowboarding then why not head for the leisure centre where you can relax and pamper and take a swim to rest tired muscles.  If you don't find this too appealing then why not opt for curling, ice skating, swimming, and the many fine local walks that there is to offer.

Accommodation

Finkenberg Hotels

finkenberg_hotelsThe Sporthotel Stock comes highly recommended and is owned by the former downhill ski champion Leonard Stock.  If you like to relax in the spa at the end of the day then this hotel is the one for you - another plus; it is right near the gondola station.  Another great hotel is the Eberl - superb food, great customer service - however; one should try and avoid the anexe rooms.  Another 4*** hotel in Finkenberg is the Kristall - a great 'wellness spa' on site as well as being very close to the gondola.

About The Mountain

Skiing in Finkenberg

finkenberg_skiThe Super Zillertal liftpass opens up 589km of runs throughout the region.  It's an enormous area and when snow conditions are good the powder is to die for.

It really gives the Three Valleys in France a run for it's money.  The other good thing is the pass includes busses and trains which are efficient, run on time and easy to use.

Snowboarders - there is a fun park with a half pipe.

Well we found the ‘THE HANDLE’ . This nifty little device allows you to carry your skis around without causing major injury to yourself and other members of the public.
