Ski Hochsoelden Only an hour from Innsbruck the popular resort of Hochsolden also a bit more expensive than some of the other Austrian resorts due to the proximity. Being such a high resort there is some great glacier skiing and snowboarding to be had; whilst this resort remains pretty snowsure all season. Close by to the nearby resort of Obergurgl, when purchasing your lift pass you are able to request an extended pass for permission to ski in this great resort.

Hochsoelden Restaurants
There are a number of wonderful restaurants for you to enjoy when on holiday in Hochsoelden.
It is advisable to book the better restaurants here in Soelden; however, at Snowbrainer we frequent the Tavola in the the Rosengarten hotel - reservations here are not needed and we haven't had a bad meal yet! Go and see for yourself. if its traditional Austrian fayre that you are after then we would recommend the Ausserwald just above the town. Pizzeria's are popular choices when off on skiing holidays and Nudeltopf and Corso have come highly recommended! |

Alternative Winter Activities on offer at Hochsoelden For The Family
As with many Austrian ski resorts, there is a wide choice of alternative winter activities. A popular choice of evening activity is to take the lift up to a mountain hut for a leisurely evening meal; then ride down the illuminated toboggan run back to the resort. This is a popular activity that is widely enjoyed by all who participate in this. A fun evening event; the meal with toboggan run is organised by three places, the Berggasthof Silbertal, the Gaislachalm and the Loplealm. As with many ski resorts; sleigh rides and night skiing are offered with the chance to catch a choreographed piste show - now this is popular with kids as much as adults!

Hochsoelden Ski
Soelden is ideal for snowboarders both on and off the slopes. Soelden is served by more chairs and gondolas than many other Alpine resorts making it popular with boarders as well as skiers. Snowboarders will be satisfied with the two terrain parks that are located about Giggijoch; the boarder park has a half pipe, kickers, rails, a 3m wall ride, and a chill area amongst other things. Skiing in Soelden is fantastic with the Big 3 available to ski on. The Big 3 being the spectacular glaciers that are all over 3000m high. Much of the terrain at Soelden is classified as red runs and offers fantastic cruising. Many advanced or expert skiers will have a good choice of black runs. Much of the ski and snowboard area is at a relatively high altitude for Austrian standards and this ensures that there is plenty of snow all season long even without the state of the art snow machines churning out snow! |

This restaurant offers simple and traditional food out on a lovely terrace with views as far as Obergurgl. If you enjoy scrumptious chicken then a restaurant famed for this is the self service option at Giggijoch - a vast restaurant but great food when on the run. |
