Jerzens
Jerzens SkiJerzens is a beautiful and picturesque ski resort in the Tyrol valley. There are plenty of lifts to cater for the resort's needs and the variety of ski runs are perfect for the needs of beginners and intermediates. Many experienced and expert skiers probably won't find Jerzens the most challenging of ski resorts; they should head off piste with a guide for a fun and adventured fueled day. Jerzens has the largest self-contained ski area on the Hochzeiger and is close to the Pitzaler Glacier, which has one of Europe's highest, year round ski areas.
To reach Jerzens and then onto the the ski area you travel into the valley, passing through
the villages of Arzl and Wenns. Upon reaching Wenns follow the signs
for Jerzens and the Hochzeiger Ski and Excursion Area (“Ski- und
Ausflugsgebiet Hochzeiger”). The road branches off left from the main
“Pitztaler Landesstraße” road.
Once you reach the centre of the village of Jerzens
follow the signs to the Hochzeiger (at the “Adeg” Supermarket turn
right and climb upwards). The road continues in hairpin bends for
approx. 4 km before reaching the bottom lift station.

Investment in New lift Starting in December 2009, an additional new lift will take you up to the summit of Sechszeiger mountain - at 2,395m one of the most beautiful views in the ski area: the Zirben Lift, an ultra-modern detachable 6-passenger chair lift with protective hood and seat heating, not only lets you climb 432m altitude in a few minutes, but also gets you to the new slopes that descend from the Zirben Lift‘s upper station.
Starting in December 2009, skiers and boarders can carve to their hearts‘ content on two new (red) slopes. Right next to the new Zirben Lift is the new 3 km Zirben Slope. The 4 km Panorama Slope provides stunning views of Imst and the Gurgl and Inn Valleys.
The Sechszeiger reservoir‘s usable capacity has been increased to 105,000m³. This enhancement allows the use of 64 artificial snow machines starting in winter 2009/10 (previously 22 machines). This investment means that the Hochzeiger Ski Resort can be covered with snow in only 10 days of appropriate temperatures.
