| About The Resort.. |
|
 |
|
|
La Thuile Ski Resort La Thuille is a resort with a little French influence in the design, yet it is purpose built but with a definite Italian flavour. Guests often choose to stay in the old village across the river (free bus service to and from). Courmayeur is easily reached by car while La Rosiere over the border in France extends the options of where to ski. Look out for those St Bernard Dogs.

La Thuile Skiing and Snowboarding
Skiers and snowboarders alike enjoy a large ski area linking onto La Rosiere in France. There is spectacular scenery with excellent views of the Matterhorn. Monte Rosa and Mont Blanc. La Thuile slopes best suit beginners and intermediates looking for the motorway cruises with an uncrowded feel to them. It must be noted that the lift system is excellent and there are a lot of north facing slopes
Snowboarders - may be frustrated with the lack of snowpark and it is a little flat in places but there are plenty of good natural jibs and broad runs for carving.
Advanced - there are a number of steep pistes to keep oneself amused with a fair amount of off piste. It is not unusual to find fresh tracks two to three days after the snow has fallen.
Intermediates - there is a good amount of skiable terrain to amuse most intermediates. Beginners - certainly enough to get your started and some gently blues to keep you active.
Have a look at the video to see the powder and sunshine waiting in La Thuile.

La Thuile Mountain Restaurants Things have definitely improved from when we at Snowbrainer first visited. The Clotze does reasonably tasty food whilst the best we found was the Maison de Neige. A good self service restaurant is the Meleze near the top of the gondola - delicious food and generous portions. The Roxi restaurant does very good 'hot rolls and chips' say some of our customers; whilst another popular choice is The Off Shore above Arnouvaz - this restaurant has an African themed decor but serves fantastic lasagne. With over 13 mountain restaurants dotted around the mountains in La Thuile you can be sure to eat well on the mountains.

La Thuile Ski Runs There are plenty of good ski runs on offer at La Thuile including plenty for beginners and keen intermediates. many of the runs above Les Suches have blue and red runs which are ideal for cruising. A number of red runs have tree lined pistes and lead back to the resort which is great for lunch time, and afternoon coffee and the last run home! For experienced and more advanced skiers there are plenty of testing steep runs from Les Suches, Diretta, Berthod and Muret; whilst Fourclaz has some fantastic black runs as well as pretty fierce off piste action.

Generally I would say it is a fairly quiet resort and none the worse for that. Skiing is often ski in ski out and the skiing is good for all levels and there are lots of wide open pistes. Snow conditions were good but there again my mate who went Meribel said the same this year! Excellent ski school. Berthod Sport could not have been more helpful.

Stayed in the Hotel Dora and got my ski hire with you at Snowbrainer. Hotel is a 5 minute walk away from the lifts and we would recommend it for families. La Thuile is a decent sized resort and never once did it feel crowded on the runs and this was New Year. Will be heading back again later in the season as long as I don’t lose my job!

Loved the pizza!. Sorry the skiing! Great resort, lots of reds to play on and fairly quiet which made for more skiing than I was expecting to do. Good links to La Rosiere in France but be careful when the wind picks up as the lifts can close fairly quickly. My daughter enjoyed the ski school where they spoke English and has asked us to go back next year.
